I realize that this post is 65 days after Christmas, but I'm just now getting back to the blog. The reason why I have been avoiding posting is because looking at my Sunshine & Storms stats were extremely discouraging. There's something disheartening about seeing that only two people read your post that you slaved over for several hours. However, I'd like to get back to posting more regularly as an outlet of sorts.
Anyways, I just wanted to share an extremely belated (isn't that a fun word?) look at my Christmas morning which was spent in Texas with my family.

Although none of these pictures are very pretty (they were just really quick shots in a vain attempt to capture some of the Christmas mania), they hold some great memories. I've been trying to look beyond the aesthetics in some of my photography work instead on capturing something that has meaning. I think the secret to being a good artist is being able to mix beauty with life's ugliness. Life generally isn't pretty, but there's always a little nugget of something that is.
I dunno. I'm feeling philosophical tonight.
I mean, I've had a lot of time to just think today. I'm taking a sign language class at school and we were given an assignment to act Deaf for a weekend. I'm not allowed to talk to people and I am required to wear earplugs until Sunday night. It's actually really lonely and frustrating.
I hope I will get back to writing soon. I have so many things I want to share with you all, even if "you all" is just those two people mentioned in my blog stats. Well, you know what? All those other people are missing out. You two are my new buds and we will just party down together.
Woot woot.
