It's me again. This time, I'm going to do a short blog post about my blog. I know it's strange, but stick with me for a few minutes. I will just quickly explain some updates and changes I've made, and then next time you come back there will be something that's actually entertaining to read on my blog.
Deal?
Today marks three months and five days writing for Sunshine & Storms. As of today, I have had over 1,000 people check out my blog (according to my website stats anyways).
Uh.... what?! Who's even reading this?! I honestly can't believe it.
Not to brag or anything, but I'm kind of a blogging expert now. (brushes lint off shoulder and flips hair) Yeah, that may be a slight exaggeration. However, I have learned a few things in the past three months and five days about blogging. I've learned how to index/verify my website on Google (along with what that means!), how to code a few things into my blog format, and how to annoy my friends by self-promoting my blog via Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram. Seriously, I feel really bad for the people who follow me on social media. They must hear about S&S a bajillion times a week. But obviously my self-promotion is working since people are still going to my site.
Anyways, I've made some minor changes to my blog, all of which are nicely underlined for you if you're just skimming this post...
Change #1: First of all, if you are reading this on a mobile device, do me a favor and scroll to the very bottom of the page. It will give you an option between viewing this site in Mobile Mode or Web Mode and trust me, if you press Web Mode, my site is a lot prettier and funner (yes, I know this is not a real word. Don't correct my English unless you want to be stabbed.) to look at and browse.
I'll just give you mobile viewers a few seconds to do that..
One Mississippi. Two Mississippi. Three Mississippi...
Welcome back mobile viewers! Was I right?! My blog is way more visually appealing now!
Change #2: Another change is that I now have an email subscription list. Click on the "Blog" tab of S&S. On the right bar of my blog page there should be a box with a slot that is perfect for an email address. YOUR email address that is, in case you're interested in getting my blog updates sent directly to you. Think of all that time you'll save by not needing to type out my blog address whenever you want to check for new posts!
Okay, so it only saves like twenty seconds, but it's all nice in principle.
Change #3: Next, if you click on the "Contact" tab on the top of my blog site, it will take you to a neat page that gives you the opportunity to send me a message! I'd love to hear from one of my 1,000+ readers, so if you want to peck out a quick note to me, go ahead! You can message me about anything. I won't judge.
Well, actually, I probably will, but you just won't know that I'm doing it.
Change #4: Also, I messed around with the coding on my blog and got rid of the annoying bar at the bottom of my page that says what site I used to create my blog. This isn't actually something you need to be aware of, but I'm just proud I got the coding to work.
Change #5: If you've clicked on the "Blog" tab on my site, on the right bar of the page there will be a list of blog post categories. I just file each of my blog posts under what they're about so you can find them really easily later!
Change #6: Oh! Be checking the "Photography" tab of my blog often since I randomly post new pictures into the slideshow on that page. And you know, you could give me feedback by using the "Contact" page now that you know how to use it!
I think that's about it. So terribly sorry to post something so boring! Hopefully now that you know about some of my blog updates, you'll use them and APPRECIATE HOW MUCH TIME I SPENT ON MAKING THEM. And of course, promote my blog so I don't spam my Facebook friends with posts about S&S all the time.
Or not. But it would be nice. ☺
