Hello again!
In case you are not up to speed with Sunshine & Storms, I have decided to set aside one day a week (I chose Friday) to tell you a few things that have been happening to me or that are on my mind.
Launching right into it... are you ready for the newest installment of my Friday Fives? Because ready or not, here it is...
Bye!
- WHY IS IT STILL SO HOT. It's 19 days into September now and someone needs to let September know. It's been 90 degrees this entire week and it makes me want to cry. Sweaters. Scarves. Boots. I want to wear them. I want to be cold again. I'm ready to go make my argument with Mother Nature. September should not have so many disgustingly warm days.
- Starbucks is making my white girl soul very happy this week. They're having a buy one, get one free fall drink sale. That means you buy any salted caramel mocha, pumpkin spice latte, or Oprah chai tea latte, you get another one. For freeeeee. I like free. And fall drinks. I've already taken advantage of the offer twice and knowing me and my inability to turn down anything that is free, there will probably be another stop or two during the weekend.
- Ugh. Let's talk homework for a second. I have had so much homework over the past few weeks and I just don't understand. I'm even being an under-achiever and not taking all honors classes this year! Yet I've stayed up until 2 am on numerous occasions this week. I'm at the point where sleep doesn't seem possible. I just shuffle from class to class with glazed over eyes and a dizzy feeling while guzzling coffee. Whoever discovered/made caffeine was a genius.
- I am in a fashion and textile class right now. It is possibly the dumbest class I've ever taken. I mean, we research clothes all period and go on a field trip to the mall. It's not exactly rocket science. Anyhoo, currently, my class is doing a research paper on a designer of our choice and I chose Kate Spade. I can't say I have done as much research as I have just been browsing her website and ogling over the mugs. I want a Kate Spade mug. Particularly the pink/orange one that says "eat cake for breakfast" because I have done that. A lot. Well, actually it was pie, but whatevs.
- My friend recently picked up a book for me from the Family Christian Bookstore. I've wanted it for a while because it has everything to do with one of my biggest challenges: being bold. The book is titled "Let's All Be Brave" by Annie F. Downs and is funny and inspiring. However, there have been many times when I've felt convicted or inspired and don't act on it because of laziness or fear. I suppose that's the purpose of this book. To be bold and act on it. It's worth a read guys. Go check it out!
Bye!
