The best thing one can do when its raining is to let it rain."
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Happy March everyone! ☺
Today was a lovely rainy day. ☁ ☂ I love rainy days. The sound, the smell, and the beautiful grey color of the sky. But what could make a rainy day even better?
Macarons. (duh!)
I stopped by my favorite bakery today (Boise's Bakery, for all you local Idahoans), and since it's a Saturday, they had French macarons on the menu which I instantly knew I needed. Out of rose, coconut, and Earl Grey tea macarons, I chose the Earl Grey tea one which was paired with a delicious honey buttercream. I had no idea what to expect, but I was pleasantly suprised- it was goooooood! If rainy days had a flavor, this would be it. The color of the shells even matches the grey in the sky today!
I'm now feeling inspired to try baking this flavor, so I will be making these very soon. When I do, I'll post pictures of them (and I promise that the pictures won't be of half-eaten ones! Sorry about that... I had nearly finished my macaron when I was like, "Oooh! This would be a great blog post!")
But just to let you all know, anyone who lives in Idaho needs to go check out Boise's Bakery. Like now. And for those of you who aren't Idaho locals, you need to come down and experience the best state in the US and then go eat some baked goods from Boise's Bakery. (http://boisesbakery.com/)
Anyways, do you guys like the rain? Or is it just me? And is there a certain flavor of macarons that I should attempt next? I'm always looking for interesting flavor pairs.
